Infant Toddler Lead Teacher
Red Door Individualized Learning Program is seeking an infant toddler teacher. Candidates should have experience or desire to work in a preschool/childcare setting with children ages birth to age 5, with a particular focus on birth to age 2. The Lead Teacher promotes the social, physical, and intellectual growth of the children under his/her care and works with the school’s staff to create an environment of learning and keeps parents informed of the progress of their child.
Position Description
We are currently looking for a Full-Time Infant Toddler Teacher. This is a permanent, hourly position in which the Teacher is a member of the school wide team. Red Door believes that by working together we can apply our individual strengths to meet the needs of our students and families, which guarantees success for all. We welcome staff who come to us with a wide range of experience, from new graduates, to seasoned teachers, and who are looking to work collaboratively with fellow preschool and childcare staff. Through thoughtful supervision and coaching, Red Door assists all our staff to expand their skills, take on challenges and experience success!
Essential Functions:
- Be the primary caregiver for up to four children in the classroom
- Assist children with activities of daily life, changing diapers, feeding, cleaning and putting them to sleep
- Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times
- Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development
- Ensure a safe, loving, and healthy environment for all students in the classroom
- Ensure all classroom materials are intact, safe and presented in a child-friendly and age/developmentally appropriate manner
- Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing all company standards.
- Supervision of Teacher Assistant(s) during instructional time.
- Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences
- Participate in team meetings and staff meetings
- Ongoing assessment and documentation of children’s performance and progress.
- Maintain accurate attendance records for all children in class.
- Complete all educational reports and goals in a timely manner.
- Develop a schedule that is reflective of the needs of the children in the class and supports best practice in early childhood education.
- Attend Red Door events as necessary.
- Maintain regular contact with the families via notebooks and/or phone calls.
- Open communication with supervisor, including reporting any immediate concerns of the parents/guardians
- Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of Red Door at all times.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Child Development Associate (CDA)
- Associate or Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood (ECE), Child Studies or a related field (preferred) – or willingness to work towards certification
- Complete a Tuberculosis test and physical and provide a physician’s documentation of both
- Ability to build a warm and inclusive classroom environment for students with different levels of learning ability, styles and backgrounds
- Excellent in creating and maintaining strong relationships with students and families
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $15./hr+ depending on experience.
